Sony to phase out physical game discs and close PS3, PSVita stores

Sony has revealed plans to discontinue the manufacturing of physical game discs by January 2028, marking a transition toward a digital-only model as consumer habits shift online. Additionally, the company confirmed that the PlayStation Store will be shut down worldwide for both the PS3 and PSVita next year. In certain regions, however, the PS3 store will stop operating as early as this year.
