Shubhanshu Shukla introduces BHEEM: A modular housing design for lunar and Martian missions
Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla has presented the Bharatiya Extraterrestrial Expandable Modular Habitat (BHEEM). This design features modular, panel-based structures intended for use on the Moon and Mars, which are compact enough to be packed into rockets. These BHEEM panels can be connected to create pressurized living quarters for space crews. According to the concept, one Starship flight could transport enough panels to construct a habitat double the size of the International Space Station.
