Short sellers eye ₹84,000 crore profit as SpaceX stock dips below IPO value

According to data from Ortex Technologies, short sellers are currently holding paper profits of roughly $8.7 billion, which translates to nearly ₹84,000 crore, following the massive SpaceX IPO on June 12. By borrowing shares to sell them and repurchasing them later at a cheaper rate, these investors aim to profit from the decline. Currently, about 49% of the total free float shares of SpaceX are out on loan.
