Shakti Sharma makes history as first non-medical female Air Vice Marshal
In a landmark achievement for the Indian Air Force, Shakti Sharma has become the first woman officer outside the medical branch to reach the rank of Air Vice Marshal or its equivalent within the Indian Defence Services. She has taken over the role of Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education). Previously, she also set a record as the first female officer from the Tri-Services to lead a Sainik School.
