SEBI bans Zee founder and CEO from markets for a year, levies ₹1.48 crore fine
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has prohibited Zee Entertainment's CEO Punit Goenka and founder Subhash Chandra from participating in the securities market for a period of one year due to breaches of securities regulations. Additionally, the market regulator has slapped a fine of ₹1.48 crore on the firm and both executives. An investigation revealed that company assets were used as collateral for loans benefiting entities connected to shareholders, all without obtaining the necessary authorizations.
