SC denies February deadline for Aravalli panel report; CJI says they are 'waiting for my retirement'
On Monday, the Supreme Court turned down a high-powered committee's request for a six-month extension, ordering it to present its final report defining the Aravalli Hills by November 30. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant remarked, "[It] appears they are waiting for my retirement." The top court instructed the committee to "work day and night" and made it clear that no more extensions will be allowed.
