State Bank of India, the country's largest lender, intends to bring on approximately 12,000 new workers and open nearly 250 additional branches during the current financial year, according to Chairman CS Setty. Following the recruitment of 1,500 IT professionals in the last fiscal year, the bank has no immediate plans for further hiring in that specific sector. During the previous financial year, SBI added 25,633 people to its workforce, a figure that included 4,640 officers, 19,340 associates, and 1,653 staff members on contract.
