Satellite footage reveals monsoon clouds above India
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a video that displays monsoon clouds moving across India. This satellite footage revealed white cumulonimbus clouds blanketing nearly all of India, with the exception of some areas in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir. These cumulonimbus clouds are typically associated with intense rainfall, lightning strikes, and thunderstorms. The Southwest Monsoon began its arrival in India on June 4.
