SAT challenges SEBI over Zee's two-month market ban, holds off on relief decision
The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) has raised questions regarding SEBI's decision to impose a two-month ban on Zee Entertainment, a move that threatens to stall the company's proposed ₹3,143 crore fundraising initiative via share issuance. SEBI argued that granting Zee permission to raise capital while the ban is active would undermine the penalties issued for the unauthorized use of company assets as loan collateral back in 2018. The tribunal has now reserved its verdict on Zee's request for interim relief.
