A US court has convicted the man who stabbed and partially blinded author Salman Rushdie in 2022 of federal terrorism charges. Hadi Matar, 28, was also found guilty of providing support to the Iran-backed militant organization Hezbollah. Matar is currently serving a 25-year sentence for attempted murder and could now face a maximum of life in federal prison.
