The iconic playback singer S Janaki, who died on Saturday at the age of 88, was given a final farewell with full state honours on Sunday at a private estate in Mysuru, Karnataka. Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar stated, "I will consult with my peers in the film fraternity on the best ways to safeguard and honour her legacy." Throughout her career, Janaki sang more than 40,000 tracks in various Indian languages.
