Russian hackers leveraged Musk-backed AI tool Cursor for attacks on 7 firms

According to a Reuters report, hackers who speak Russian utilized the AI-powered coding assistant Cursor, which is backed by SpaceX, to launch attacks against a chemical company in Belgium and at least six other businesses. The cyberattack campaign, linked to the ransomware group Aur0ra, was identified by security firms CloudSek and Gambit Security. After analyzing 28 leaked chat logs between the hackers and the AI agent, Gambit Security highlighted how cybercriminals are increasingly adopting AI technology to facilitate their attacks.
