Russia completes first fully sanctions-independent aircraft with 211-seat capacity

Russia has officially developed the MC-21, its inaugural aircraft built entirely without reliance on foreign parts due to sanctions, featuring a capacity for 211 passengers. The plane completed an initial test flight lasting one hour and 23 minutes, hitting speeds of 600 km/h while flying at an altitude of 6,000 meters. Although the MC-21 project began in 2009 and was initially scheduled for mass production by 2016, international sanctions caused significant delays to the schedule.
