Rupee drops below 96 versus dollar, reaching lowest point since May
On Tuesday, the Indian rupee weakened beyond the 96 level against the US dollar, marking its lowest value since May 22. The currency saw a decline of 62 paise, finishing the day at 96.3 per dollar, driven by a 4% spike in Brent crude oil prices. This shift follows the US decision to reinstate a naval blockade at the Strait of Hormuz in response to rising tensions with Iran.
