RTI reveals 1 in 4 Jan Dhan accounts is inactive, 5.72 crore have no balance

Data from an RTI response indicates that one out of every four Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts is currently inactive, with approximately 5.72 crore accounts holding a zero balance. The figures show that more than 15 crore accounts linked to the program are marked as inoperative. Uttar Pradesh leads the country with 95.92 lakh zero-balance accounts, followed by Bihar and West Bengal.
