Researchers record first video of rare barreleye fish in the Atlantic
Experts have successfully filmed Winteria telescopa, a scarce type of barreleye fish, in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time in its native environment. This finding occurred at a depth of 710 metres throughout a month-long research mission and may provide new understanding of deep-sea life. The creature features a clear, liquid-filled head that houses two tube-shaped eyes designed to gaze toward the surface.
