Experts have identified an atmosphere surrounding LHS 1140b, a rocky world situated 49 light-years from our planet. According to research featured in the journal Science, while there is currently no proof of life there, the planet possesses the essential elements required to support habitability. LHS 1140b, which was first spotted in 2017, maintains a cooler temperature than Earth and completes an orbit around its red dwarf star every 25 days.
