Research suggests climbing stairs may boost longevity and heart health

A meta-analysis of 480,479 individuals found that frequently taking the stairs is linked to a 39% reduction in the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and a 24% lower chance of death from all causes. Researchers at the University of East Anglia examined nine different studies, tracking participants over a median period of 14 years. The findings indicate that stair climbing is associated with a decreased risk of experiencing heart failure, stroke, and heart attacks.
