Research indicates comets could have delivered water to a developing planetary system
Scientists at Lund University in Sweden have discovered signs of exocomets—comets located in distant solar systems—circling a young star that resembles our Sun. One researcher noted that their findings imply comets might play a role in carrying water to the inner regions of a planetary system, which is where planets typically develop. This system, known as PDS 70, is situated 370 light-years away from our planet.
