Research finds AI can spot heart issues in women via mammograms
A study shared at the European Society of Cardiology reveals that AI may assist in identifying heart disease in women during standard mammogram appointments. This tool has the potential to flag risks for stroke, high blood pressure, and coronary heart disease while patients undergo breast cancer checks. The AI identified coronary heart disease and high blood pressure with 78% and 79% accuracy, respectively, irrespective of a patient's age or whether they have cancer.
