Report: JeM operative Hamim plotted attacks on WB CM and Jantar Mantar
According to a Firstpost report, the Special Task Force of the West Bengal Police has apprehended a suspected Pakistan-linked Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) cell headed by Hamim Mandal. The group reportedly intended to target the West Bengal Chief Minister and cause unrest during student demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Authorities also took another alleged JeM member, Arpita Sarkar, into custody. The module was further accused of planning to kidnap a politician's son and extort funds from him.
