Report: Indian businessman allegedly defrauded Indonesian President to secure massive defence deals
According to an OCCRP report, Indian entrepreneur Gaurav Srivastava misled Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to land defence agreements valued at billions of dollars. During 2020, Srivastava accompanied Subianto, who was serving as defence minister at the time, to top-tier meetings held in the United States. Through these interactions, he managed to obtain Letters of Intent (LOI) for the procurement of C-130 aircraft, Black Hawk helicopters, and F-15 fighter jets. Additionally, he secured an LOI aimed at constructing a command centre for Indonesia's defence operations.
