Report: Hackers linked to China used AI for Taiwan cyberattack
Hackers allegedly utilized open-source AI tools such as OpenClaw to carry out a largely autonomous cyberattack against government bodies in Taiwan. According to Dream, an Israeli firm specializing in AI, these agents identified 21 government systems, compromised 85 user accounts, and stole approximately 2,500 employee records during a four-day period in July. It is believed that the hackers responsible for the breach have ties to China.
