Report: Daily marijuana use in US now outpaces alcohol and cigarettes
According to the 2025 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, Americans aged 12 and up are now using marijuana on a daily or near-daily basis more frequently than they are drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. The data shows that 21.4 million individuals use marijuana daily or almost every day, outnumbering the 19.9 million who smoke cigarettes daily and the 17.2 million who consume alcohol daily. These figures also place marijuana use ahead of daily cigar smoking and nicotine vaping.
