Rare Siberian bird seen in Gurugram in 5th sighting in 150 years

A rare Siberian bird, the 'sharp-tailed sandpiper', has been spotted near Mankrola village on the Gurugram side of Najafgarh Lake, marking only the fifth such recorded sighting in about 150 years. Akshit Dua, a conservationist based in NCR, documented the bird. "The species never flies south over Kashmir, which makes it a very rare bird in India," naturalist Ramkumar said.
