PV Sindhu makes history with maiden Japan Open victory
On Sunday, PV Sindhu achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian badminton player to secure the Japan Open title. She triumphed over local favorite Akane Yamaguchi in the women's singles final in Tokyo, winning in straight sets with a score of 21-17, 21-17. This victory marks the two-time Olympic medalist's first-ever Super 750 trophy and her initial BWF World Tour win since the Syed Modi International held in December 2024.
