Punjab bans production and sale of analogue paneer for one year
The Punjab administration has prohibited the production, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale of analogue paneer throughout the state for a period of one year. This decision comes after official checks revealed that certain food businesses were creating paneer substitutes using vegetable fat, oil, and various non-dairy components rather than actual milk. Similar bans on these products have already been implemented in states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.
