A 56-year-old entrepreneur from Pune was defrauded of ₹1.07 crore by criminals who utilized a deepfake clip of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to advertise a fraudulent investment site claiming to sell 'exclusive' SpaceX stock. The scammers gained the victim's confidence by showing him falsified returns and assigning a fake financial advisor to guide him into making the investment. Authorities have now filed an FIR and initiated a probe into the matter.
