Puducherry coach faces FIR after Ranji player files complaint
A Judicial Magistrate in Puducherry has directed the police to register an FIR against U-19 coach S Venkatraman following a plea from Ranji cricketer Jayasundaram Karthikeyan. Karthikeyan is one of the three players Venkatraman previously accused of assaulting him at the CAP facility in December 2025. In his petition, Karthikeyan claimed that Venkatraman verbally abused the athletes and struck them with a bat, adding that local police failed to act on his initial complaint filed on the same day.
