Prashant Kishor sworn in as Bankipur MLA, marks Jan Suraaj's first assembly win
On Monday, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor was administered the oath of office as the MLA for Bankipur by Speaker Prem Kumar. This makes him the inaugural legislator representing the Jan Suraaj party in the Bihar Assembly. Kishor secured his victory by defeating the BJP's Neeraj Kumar with a lead of 19,324 votes. The by-election for this constituency was held following the resignation of the seat by BJP leader Nitin Nabin.
