Prakash Raj and others held during 'EC Chalo' rally against Karnataka SIR
Actor and activist Prakash Raj, along with various civil society members, was taken into custody while participating in an 'Election Commission Chalo' demonstration in Bengaluru. The group was gathered to voice their opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's voter lists. Prakash Raj questioned the move, stating, "SIR has to be scrapped...What was the need to do this in just one month?" Reports indicate that more than 1.07 crore voters were left off the draft electoral rolls.
