Poland supported India during 1971 war, says envoy
Poland's Ambassador to India, Dr. Piotr Antoni Świtalski, spoke about the 1971 conflict between India and Pakistan, which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh, stating, "Clearly, we were on your (India) side." He further noted that the Indian Army utilized Polish tanks during the liberation of Bangladesh, calling it a well-known historical fact. Additionally, he highlighted that Poland was the third nation globally to officially acknowledge Bangladesh as an independent country.
