PM's advisor counters Dhirendra Shastri, says meat is integral to Shakta tradition

Following Bageshwar Baba Dhirendra Shastri's request for people to abstain from eating meat during Durga Puja in West Bengal, PM Narendra Modi's economic advisor Sanjeev Sanyal stated that meat is a fundamental aspect of Shakta Hinduism. He explained that it is presented to Goddess Durga and Goddess Kali as an ancient ritual, adding that any disruption to this holy practice would not be accepted.
