PM Modi honors Lal Bahadur Shastri during Tashkent visit
In Tashkent, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and participated in a tree-planting ceremony alongside Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Throughout the trip, India and Uzbekistan strengthened their bilateral relationship, establishing a goal to reach $5 billion in trade by the year 2030. Lal Bahadur Shastri passed away in Tashkent in 1966, shortly after he signed the Tashkent Declaration, which brought an end to the 1965 war between India and Pakistan.
