Parliamentary IT panel chief accuses Zuckerberg of trying to destabilise India
Nishikant Dubey, the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, has alleged that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is aiming to "destabilise" the country. Dubey demanded an apology from Zuckerberg following the removal of a selfie video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Facebook for a duration of five hours. Previously in January, Zuckerberg had claimed that the Indian government "lost" the 2024 elections because of its management of the COVID-19 crisis, a statement for which Meta subsequently issued an apology.
