Parliamentary committee demands apology from Mark Zuckerberg over PM Modi video removal
The IT parliamentary committee, led by Nishikant Dubey, has demanded a public apology from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg following the brief removal of a video featuring PM Modi from Facebook. Dubey stated that if Zuckerberg fails to apologize, the safe harbour protection granted under Section 79 should be revoked. This legal provision currently protects internet service providers and online platforms from being held liable for content posted by third parties.
