Paris river water tapped to fight 1,980-acre forest blaze
French officials announced that firefighting aircraft will collect water from the Seine in Paris to help battle a wildfire that has scorched 1,980 acres of the Fontainebleau forest. Over 400 personnel are currently on the scene working to bring the flames under control about 70 km outside of the city. Officials have advised the public to stay away from the vicinity, as the A6 motorway has been shut down because of the fire.
