Over 700 lawyers across three groups call for BCI Chairman's resignation following NALSAR dispute
Three legal collectives representing more than 700 members have called for Bar Council of India (BCI) Chairman Manan Mishra to step down due to the ongoing NALSAR controversy. The groups stated that if Mishra refuses to resign, other BCI members should move for a no-confidence vote against him. This demand follows Mishra's apology to law students, which came after he initially issued an order that prevented 2026 NALSAR graduates from enrolling.
