Over 100 Turkish doctors suspended for C-section procedures
According to the Turkish publication BirGun, the Health Ministry of Turkey has suspended and fined more than 100 physicians for conducting caesarean section deliveries. These doctors are now required to complete compulsory training, as the rate of C-sections in the nation has climbed to 615 for every 1,000 live births. As of April 2025, Turkey has banned private medical facilities from carrying out C-sections unless there is a valid medical necessity.
