Onam gift: Kerala to provide 4 kg rice to school children
Ahead of the Onam festival, the Kerala government has announced that it will provide four kilograms of rice to all students from pre-primary level up to Class 8 in government and aided schools. Education Minister N Samsudheen mentioned that the initiative will be officially inaugurated in Thiruvananthapuram. Additionally, workers in the cashew industry are set to receive a 20% bonus, with an advance payment of ₹11,500 scheduled to be disbursed by August 23.
