Om Birla grants separate seating to rebel TMC MPs in Lok Sabha
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has accepted the plea from 20 dissident Trinamool Congress (TMC) members to be seated separately following their split from the Mamata Banerjee-headed party. While these rebel lawmakers have declared their merger with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), Birla has not yet officially acknowledged this union. This seating adjustment arrives just before the start of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
