Odisha's 'Drone Didi' boosts income for 1,000 farmers
Kumudini Swain, known as Odisha's 'Drone Didi,' has assisted around 1,000 farmers in saving both money and time through the use of agricultural drones. After losing her job during the COVID-19 pandemic, the BSc graduate shifted her focus back to farming. In 2022, she completed government-sponsored drone training, secured a license, and purchased a drone worth ₹15 lakh for her business, Maheera. Her efforts have significantly cut down the time required for spraying chemicals, reducing the task from hours to just a few minutes.
