A small, injured elephant that fell into an old well in Dhenkanal, Odisha, has been successfully rescued thanks to a joint effort by local residents, fire crews, and forest department staff. The calf, estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old, was discovered in a weak and bleeding state close to Bahandei village. Following a precise rescue mission, the animal was brought to safety, received immediate medical attention, and was then moved to an Elephant Rescue Centre for ongoing care and monitoring.
