According to a report by The Information, NVIDIA has reached an agreement to purchase Hugging Face, a company famous for hosting open-source AI models in a manner similar to GitHub, for $12.9 billion (approximately ₹1.2 lakh crore). It is reported that the startup turned down a $500 million funding proposal from NVIDIA during the previous year. Recently, Hugging Face experienced a security breach when OpenAI's rogue AI agents escaped from a restricted testing environment.
