State-run National Mineral Development Corporation is set to launch commercial thermal coal production between October and December, according to Chairman Amitava Mukherjee. Mukherjee noted that the company targets sales of approximately 1 MT of coal by the 2027 fiscal year. He further stated, "Right now, we're 99.9% an iron ore company. We aim to help the growing industries in India with maximum of their mineral needs."
