Nitin Gadkari admits ethanol blending has a slight impact on fuel efficiency
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has acknowledged that ethanol-blended fuel causes a "marginal" drop in mileage, primarily because ethanol has a lower calorific value compared to standard petrol. He pointed out that fuel efficiency is influenced by various elements, stating, "According to an ARAI report, vehicles designed with flex-fuel engines do not face issues regarding mileage. This is the reason we are actively promoting flex-engine technology."
