Nigerian military frees 39 students and 6 teachers kidnapped in May; 8 suspects arrested

The Nigerian military has successfully rescued 39 students and six teachers, two months following their abduction by armed men in May, according to presidential aide Bayo Onanuga. He noted that eight individuals linked to a Boko Haram-affiliated militant faction were taken into custody. Onanuga also confirmed that one of the abducted teachers tragically died during their time in captivity.
