NHRC sends notices to Meta and 8 state police heads regarding CSAM on Instagram
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has served notices to Meta along with the police chiefs of Punjab, Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Haryana, and Bihar concerning the presence of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on Instagram. NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo stated that if the material is found to be in violation of the law, an FIR must be filed against Meta. The commission has also submitted 50 specific URLs to be investigated.
