New self-repairing contact lenses use UV light to fix scratches

Chemists in South Korea have engineered contact lenses capable of fixing their own scratches after being exposed to UV light for one hour. By utilizing a unique hydrogel, these lenses can mend as much as 90% of surface wear, which extends their overall lifespan. Additionally, the lenses are built to repel bacteria while maintaining the same level of comfort found in standard soft contact lenses.
