Netanyahu claims Israel can do without US financial aid
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "I want to stop American aid. It's like welfare. I don't want it." He further remarked, "Our economy is no longer...small...we can finance ourselves this fraction of a per cent of our GDP that we receive from the United States." It is worth noting that the United States currently grants Israel $3.8 billion each year as part of a 10-year agreement that runs through 2028.
